Querido lector permítame decirle que me encuentro supremamente feliz por las cosas tan maravillosas que está haciendo Dios con nuestro país. Se puede apreciar de una manera muy clara como el gobierno de los Estados Unidos ha comenzado a interesarse en un verdadero cambio positivo para nuestra comunidad inmigrante. 

Se ha tomado otro gran paso camino a la reforma migratoria. El Comité Judicial del Senado aprobó el proyecto de ley, el cual el grupo bipartidista de los Ocho propuso en el mes de Abril.

Los miembros del comité de legisladores demócratas obtuvieron 13 votos a favor, frente a cinco en contra. Lo cual significa un eminente esfuerzo por seguir adelante en busca de la aprobación. De ser aprobado, estaríamos hablando del primer movimiento de inmigración serio desde 1986.                    

Ambos partidos en el Senado muestran su apoyo a la propuesta, una señal muy positiva para aquellos que esperan con ansias una solución integral.

Personas como el líder de la minoría republicana en el Senado, Mitch McConnell que comento que tiene la esperanza de que seremos capaces de conseguir un proyecto de ley que podamos aprobar aquí en el Senado hace que la esperanza crezca y no acerquemos emotivamente al camino de 13 años a la ciudadanía para la mayoría de los 11 millones de inmigrantes indocumentados en el país.

Todos sabemos que hay muchas cosas por discutir, pero es agradable saber que objetivos como fortalecer la seguridad fronteriza, aumentar el límite de visas para trabajadores altamente cualificados y el establecimiento de un nuevo programa de visas para trabajadores poco cualificados en las granjas de los Estados Unidos se están logrando.

El gobierno sabe que el cambio es necesario para resolver de forma permanente esta necesidad, aunque a los críticos les siga pareciendo que lo que se está haciendo es enmascara una amnistía, premiando a aquellos que decidieron romper las leyes de inmigración del país. Pareciera que a estos individuos no les interesa el cambio radical y positivo que traería la reforma migratoria integral a los Estados Unidos.

Lo que aun si no se tiene claro son los derechos a los homosexuales con respecto a este tema, el Comité no aprobó varias enmiendas que reforzaban el apoyo federal para las relaciones entre personas del mismo sexo de varias nacionalidades.

La Cámara de Representantes está trabajando en su propia versión de la reforma migratoria, pero si llegan a un acuerdo, el proyecto aprobado por ambas cámaras será enviado al Presidente Obama para su firma, y de esta manera esta tan esperada propuesta pueda convertirse en ley.
