Amanda Igbani Moore graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Foreign Affairs and Sociology. She then went on to pursue her juris doctorate at Howard University School of Law in Washington, District of Columbia. While at Howard, she served as Vice President of the Goler Teal Butcher International Moot Team and won the team’s 2006 internal competition. In 2007, she competed in the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition and won Best Team English Brief. The following year, Ms. Moore and her teammate won Best Team Brief and First-Runner up overall at the Susan J. Ferrell Intercultural Human Rights Moot Court Competition. Throughout her law school years, she volunteered for Justice for our Neighbors Immigration Clinic in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Ms. Moore started her legal career as a Trial Associate at the prestigious law firm of Dorsey & Whitney, LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She focused on white collar crime, civil fraud, class actions, and product liability. While at Dorsey, she served as a volunteer attorney for the Advocates of Human Rights, focusing on affirmative asylum claims. After leaving Dorsey, Ms. Moore returned to Washington, DC where she was contracted to work for Am Law 100 and Magic Circle Law firms. During that time, Ms. Moore focused mainly on anti-trust violations and mortgage backed securities fraud. When her husband’s job created the opportunity for the family to temporarily move to Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Moore interned at the law office of Musa Obregon & Associates in Maspeth, New York. It was at Musa Obregon that Ms. Moore first devoted 100 percent of her work to immigration law and decided that her passion for human rights and immigration should not be limited to occasional volunteer work.
In 2017, Ms. Moore joined Community Law Group, PLLC as an attorney in the Immigration Litigation Department. She now overseas both the Immigration Litigation Department and the Immigration Administration Department as well as serves as the primary trial attorney. Ms. Moore’s passion and dedication to immigration ensures her clients that she will fight hard for their cause and guide them through the complicated process.
